THE ROAD TO LOCO or Mi Yegua Esta Loca

I bought a horse. A Mare. A thoroughbred/pony cross. She came with a name: Coco. As in Chanel. Yes, Coco Chanel. And in a very short time I have come to believe that she is the equine doppelganger of the Parisian legend herself. She is a singular sensation. The doyenne of her very own horsey dreams; moving forward and striding high.  When you look in her eye, she is all there. I am completely convinced that she has a plan of her own (which may or may not include me). And the truth is...I have no fuckin' idea how to ride her! (Well, I can kinda ride her.)

After being in her new home for a bit and feeling more comfortable in her surroundings, she dropped into a heat so hot the geldings forgot they were decommissioned. She called, they came. She winked, they blinked. Of course, there will be no consummation for any of them but....what a show!  Her need to breed was so blatant, we started calling her trollop. Her behavior so cuckoo, I nicknamed her Coco Loco.

But here's the thing - I love her so damn much that even if I could turn back, I wouldn't. This is the path I chose. And really, just as all roads lead to the sea, my personal journeys have always led me to particular and glorious forms of crazy - every single time. This is my one and only Loco Life and now I have the horse to prove it.
